Steve's 26th Birthday
Monday was Steve's birthday and he turned the big 26! Steve decided to start his birthday early he got my parents card in the mail on Friday and Saturday when he got home he was like I think I want to use your parents money to get a new phone and I was like thats fine they gave you the money to get something you want so we headed over to T-Mobile and looked at phones I ended up talking him into getting the phone I had been wanting except I wanted the one in pink. So know he is obsessed with the phone and is glad I talked him into getting that one. On Monday (Steve's actual birthday) I woke up around 7:30 to go to the bathroom... which seems like thats all I do these days being pregnant, so I got back in bed to try and go back to sleep before my alarm went off for 9 o'clock, because I needed to get up and get some things done. I was planning on making Steve breakfast and since the day before was Sunday I couldn't get much done. I had gotten stuff on Saturday to make a breakfast casserole but I had forgotten to pick up some fruit, so as I was laying in bed I was thinking about all the things I needed to do before he woke up and so I ended up getting out of bed at 8, threw some clothes on and went to Fred Meyer to get some fruit and some gift bags and tissue paper so I could wrap Steve's presents. I then headed to pick up some birthday balloons and headed back home to start cooking breakfast for him. I wrapped his presents and signed his birthday card while I waited for the casserole to finish cooking. Once he got up we had breakfast together and I had him open his presents from me. We didn't have plans till later that night so I got ready for the day while Steve went and worked out. I still had to go pick up his birthday cake which is a story all in itself. So every year I get Steve a fun birthday cake made. The first year we were married I got him a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle birthday cake because he loved the turtle when he was a kid which he still loves, and last year I took a picture of Michael Jordan and had them put the picture on the cake. So this year I wanted to do a Portland Trailblazer cake because Steve loves them! So I go to take the picture I wanted to put on the cake and they wouldn't let me they said it was considered a copyrighted picture even though it didn't have anything stamped over the picture so I was a little upset and didn't know what I really wanted to do for a cake. I asked if they could just put a Blazer logo on the cake and they said no that that is an NBA symbol and is still considered copyrighted. So I was a little bugged because I didn't have this problem the year before if anything is copyrighted you think it would definately be Michael Jordan and his little symbol but I guess it's because it's Rexburg I don't know so I didn't give up and figured I would try another grocery store. Well they said the same thing but she did show me a book with all the NBA logos in it and said she could put the Blazer logo on the cake. She said the reason she could put it on there is because they had bought the rights or something like that to be able to use the logos to put on the cake. So I decided to go with a basketball court and to have her put the blazer logo at center court. I had an idea that I wanted to try and find some blazer basketball players to put on the court but I couldn't find anything which I don't think they even make anything like that so I had Steve's brother Ryan look for something at work since he actually works for the Portland Trailblazers and if they did make anything that would be the place to find it. Later on that day he text me and said he found something that could work so I was super excited and grateful to him for finding something. Later that night we met Steve's parents and brothers for dinner at California Pizza Kitchen and then went to see the movie Taken. We then came back to our apartment for cake and ice cream. It was a fun day and I was definately exhausted by the end of it all.
