Funny Story

So it's been extremely hot here this past week and about 90% of the apartments in Portland do not come with a/c so Steve's dad told Steve he would buy us one to put in the window so Steve met up with him on Thursday to get one at Fred Meyer. Well we get home from work and our place is steaming hot and me and Steve try to install it in our bedroom window. Well we dont have anything but a screw driver and it looked like the people before tried to install one because there is dents in the plastic part around the window. Well we get it put in place and Steve's brother Ryan came over to help us and we thought it looked pretty stable and it didnt look like it was going to move so we left it alone well after his brother left and as I was getting ready for bed I thought I heard something and I yelled Steve's name but he didn't answer so I thought I was just hearing things or that it had come from upstairs because I hear them walking around a lot so shortly after I walk in the bedroom and I saw Steve with this look on his face and I was like it fell out the window didn't it and as I look over nothing is in the window anymore so enough said it fell and it fell 2 1/2 stories! Our apartment is on a hill and we are the on the 2nd floor but really there are 2 people below us hard to explain but anyways the people below us have and air conditioner directly below our window and we have no idea how it didn't rip there's out I guess we are just lucky! So around 12:30 we walk downstairs on the side of our apartment to pull our newly broken a/c from out of the bushes to take upstairs so there is no evidence of anything happening in case we did in fact break our neighbor's below us air conditioner! So after a really hot night after not sleeping well and then sleeping Friday night at his parents house, and calling around to every Fred Meyer store to find another one in which about all 20 of them were sold out we got another air conditioner from Lowe's. So last night after we got back from Seaside Steve's dad installed it because he didnt trust us which I wouldn't either. So to say the least lesson learned and we slept amazingly last night. (1st picture is from outside our apartment our is the top air conditioner so thats how far it fell! 2nd picture is where it landed and 3rd picture is the new one installed! I tried to take of the one that fell out the window but I went to look in the dumpster and I couldn't find it everybody has already thrown all there trash on it so sorry about that I wish I would have been able to take a pic of it I thought about it too late!)
